Batch System

Batch; A batch system is one in which jobs bundled together so that they can be processed without manual intervention. In other words, in batch system, a series of jobs could be set up one after another which was called job streaming. In comparison to the single user, single process system; it was an improvement although there is a limit how many jobs can be handled. It also increased the performance as it was possible for another job to start as soon as the first one was completed. Magnetic Tape used this operating environment.
